Marko Šimić was born on March 28, 1991 in Imotski, Croatia. In July 2016, he received the Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. Since October 2016, he is with the Department of Electronics, Microelectronics, Computer and Intelligent Systems as a researcher on the project “Low-noise amplifier demonstration in horizontal current bipolar transistor technology” led by Prof. Tomislav Suligoj. His current research focus is design and optimization of radiofrequency low-noise amplifier in advanced horizontal current bipolar technology – HCBT. He is developing multiple versions of low-noise amplifier for different applications while taking full advantage of HCBT’s properties such as: simple technology, low power consumption, flexibility and compact structure. In addition, as part of the current project he is also developing the system for noise parameter measurement in order to improve the characterisation of the first discrete transistor in HCBT technology.
